# V-411 correction evidence PR https://github.com/chhoumann/PodNotes/pull/411 Branch feat/media-session Head f9ef11a8089554e9bb99b519b21cdea0899f1d14 Base origin/master 6c6f40ec4fb848e4506a25347129a4662318213d Fix commit f0202a1 ## Behavior The controller saves one remembered volume through writePlayerSettings again. Player and API volume updates persist, and the Settings volume slider calls the same path. No episode load resets volume. The restored import recorder and original comments are preserved. The speed rule compares the loaded and shown episode keys. A different episode gets the saved default speed. Restored first play, error retry, source replacement, and replay retain the shown episode's live speed. Live speed never overwrites the saved default. Settings import applies volume immediately and defers imported speed until a different episode loads. ## Failing-first and mutation evidence Before production changes, 11 assertions fail for the reported defects. failing-first.log records F1's expected 0.5/2.3 versus actual 1/1.8, volume persistence failures, and Settings/import effects. The corrected focused suites pass. The nine mutations in v411-fix-mutations.py are all killed on the correction before the upstream merge. They cover every-load speed reset, omitted volume persistence, per-load volume reset, the combined F2 regression, Settings-only preference updates, omitted imported volume, bypassed import recording, live imported speed, and missing different-episode default. The mutation runner restores source bytes in finally, compares hashes, and finishes with 172/172 unmutated tests. ## Final gates Node v22.23.2, npm 10.9.8, TMPDIR=/data/home/tmp/podnotes-PLAY1b. All six commands pass after merging #403, #414 and #413: - npm run lint. - npm run format:check. - npm run typecheck. - npm run build. - npm run test. 1,712 tests across 98 files, zero Svelte errors or warnings. - npm run docs:build. 18 pages, 112 legacy fragments, all internal links valid. npm run test:e2e passes all 72 tests across 11 files on the integrated head, with command exitCode 0 recorded in final-managed-e2e-result.json. The unmodified command ran in a detached worker so its exit survived the terminal session. No test retry option, skipped tests, relaxed assertions, or longer timeouts were added. Earlier attempts are retained. The pre-merge manual vault caused a 15-second skip assertion to see the configured 11 seconds, plus an unproven checkpoint timeout; the fresh-vault 70-test run passed. The first integrated run printed 72/72 passed but its terminal-owned wrapper ended with 143. A warm run later had a fixture feed-load notice and row-visibility timeout in #353; its wrapper terminated while detached Vitest continued, ultimately reporting 71/72. A fresh-vault run under the detached worker then passed all 72 with exit 0. Treat these as test infrastructure follow-ups, not omitted evidence. npm run size passes at 284,862 raw bytes and 90,640 gzip bytes at level 9. The brief's baseline is 89,833 gzip bytes, a total delta of 807 bytes including upstream #413. The corrected feature before that merge was 90,312 gzip bytes. These are artifact sizes, not runtime performance measurements. ## Live Obsidian Linux Xvfb, Obsidian 1.13.7, Electron 43.3.0, Chrome 150.0.7871.212. QA2's 1.14.4 selector is not in master. Isolated vault podnotes-feat-media-session, root bundle linked into its plugin folder. Local Fixtures/Local Fixture.wav is a generated 60-second mono 8 kHz WAV. The baseline driver reproduced F1 before edits: click the restored player's sliders to 2.3x and 50%, press Play, and both reset to 1x and 100%. api.volume=0.3 leaves disk defaultVolume=1. Settings volume=0.5 leaves playing volume=0.3. The independent Opus verifier's corrected UI driver proves: - 2.3x and 0.5 survive restored first play in both player state and the actual media element. - api.volume=0.3 saves defaultVolume=0.3 to data.json, while api.playbackRate=1.7 leaves saved defaultPlaybackRate=1. - The real Settings slider changes playing audio from 0.3 to 0.5, persists 0.5, and keeps speed 1.7. - Plugin reload restores volume 0.5 and default speed 1. - Replaying the shown episode keeps the chosen speed. A file-menu action plays Other Fixture at default speed 1 with volume 0.5 kept. - No captured runtime errors. One midpoint-click attempt selected 2.2x and aborted before play. The corrected driver uses trusted arrow keys to reach exactly 2.3x if needed. Extra-probe setup attempts encountered an open Settings modal and a folder animation; both are retained in the logs. The final main and extra probes pass. The parent repeated the main UI and disk proof after merging #413 on head f9ef11a. integrated-runtime/after.jsonl records the same passing values, with explicit playing-state assertions and a closed Settings modal. The final bundle SHA-256 is 7f6eb5a2ee8c7e4ddf474082d2594b74314b8b1e0b0af6ad015e8f838bfcf005. The parent opened both final screenshots and read the actual state and disk outputs. ## Review and integration Implementation ran on claudeAgent/claude-opus-5-5. The fresh Interrogate panel used claudeAgent/claude-fable-5-1 and codex_pool/gpt-6-astra with the same prompt and fix scope. Both found no production correctness defect. Fable's required green fresh-vault E2E and actual Settings slider proof pass. All reviewers are explicitly stopped. The feature-model live verifier was claudeAgent/claude-opus-5-5. Its report is v411-live-verifier.md. Parent read the raw states, disk evidence and screenshots. All owned app processes are stopped before handback. Master integration is a normal merge, with no rebase or force push. #413 changes saved-progress lookup and import rollback record decoding. It leaves the F1/F2 paths intact. The final diff against origin/master changes no API signature, schema, dependency, or docs file. The Media Session adapter and its registration are unchanged by this correction. Main.ts includes unrelated upstream settings-decoding changes. ## Remaining limits and follow-ups Android research and smoke evidence come from the earlier feature build with the identical adapter. Android WebView intentionally disables Media Session; Obsidian 1.14.4 on Android14 with WebView113.0.5672.136 exposes neither navigator.mediaSession nor MediaMetadata. A plain playing audio element did not create an Obsidian media notification or native media session. iOS WKWebView API support is expected on iOS15+, not verified on this Linux host. The PR body retains the cited MDN, Chromium and WebKit sources. Settings import behavior has unit and rollback coverage, but its volume/speed split was not separately driven through the live importer. Physical media keys and headsets remain unverified. Native Linux action delivery passed V-411 through MPRIS. Remappable actions and headset-capture feedback remain follow-ups. The E2E Media Session fixture assumes the vault's skip settings are 15/15. A fresh vault satisfies it; seeding those values explicitly is a follow-up for test isolation. The player slider fill and duplicate labels are pre-existing UI issues assigned to the v3 player work. No self-merge occurred. V-411b remains the coordinator's independent verification of the pushed head.
